Source Assignment

On March 13, you should turn in an analysis of the most important work that you have found related to you topic. I am giving you this assignment to make sure you are on task and to assess your writing. I want to give you feedback early on your prose.

For this paper you only need to write two pages or so. I am looking for a standard book/article critique:
1. An introductory paragraph that introduces the piece you are writing about and clearly states the main point you want to make about the work.
2. A second paragraph that summarizes the work.
3. A third (and maybe fourth) paragraph that begins to analyze the piece either by assessing its logic, evidence, methodology, rhetoric, or some other criteria.
4. A final paragraph that concludes your discussion.

Some points to keep in mind:
A. Your main point should be clear.
B. Your main point in your introduction should agree with your conclusion.
C. I really do not like to see "this" used as a pronoun.
D. I prefer to see short, clear subjects and strong, active verbs.

Your paper should include a title page. This title page should provide your project title one third of the way down the page and centered. In the lower right, please list your name, the class and the date. You need to turn in one copy of this assignment along with your marked up bibliography and topic assignments. If necessary, you should also update your topic assignment. Please put them all together in a folder or other container that has your name and mailbox number clearly visible on the outside.
