On March 15, you should turn in a summary of the historiography on your topic.

By that time you should have a sense of the field. I want you to write a short analysis of the historiography that you have made yourself familiar with.

There are many different questions your analysis might try to answer. For example: What is the major debate among the scholars of your topic? How has the focus of debate around your topic changed over time? Why has the focus of debate changed over time? ...You get the idea.

Your paper should include a title page that includes a title for this assignment, your name, the class, the date, and your mailbox number. At the end of the paper you should attach a correctly formatted bibliography. You need to turn in one copy of this assignment along with your book review and with the marked up copy of your topic assignment.
