Robert Romza was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1960. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Duquesne University in 1982. Romza was awarded the Master of Music degree in Composition from the University of Georgia in June 1993. He has studied composition with Robert Shankovich, Daniel Perlongo, Leonard Ball and Roger Vogel. Honors include prizes in the 1992 and 1993 Philip Slates Composition Contest sponsored by the Southeastern Composers League and membership in Phi Kappa Phi. Mr. Romza currently resides in Iowa City, Iowa and teaches elementary music in the Columbus Community Schools in Columbus Junction, Iowa.
