Teaching Overseas:

• TESOL Career Services Placement Bulletin - current job openings are listed in this monthy publication -- a paper copy is available at the CDO office; the password for the online service is available by contacting career@grinnell.edu.
• JET (Japanese Exchange and Teaching) Programme hires recent college graduates to serve as Assistant Language Teachers in Japanese public school classrooms or in prefecture or city government as Coordinators for International Relations. The salary is sufficient to cover personal expenses for living in Japan, and round-trip air transportation is provided.
  Japanese language not required. Contracts are for one year with extensions available. The JETAA (JET Alumni Association) web site contains great information about the program, JETAA chapters, contacts, a Job Hunting Guide and an e-mail listserv. In 2000 6 Grinnell students left to teach with JET!
• Peace Corps formed to promote world peace, mutual understanding and to offer trained men and women to countries in need. 6,500 volunteers serve in over 90 countries in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Central and Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet Union. Many teaching positions available.
