Smith Gallery Mission Statement

The Smith Gallery is a student-centered space committed to the exhibition of innovative contemporary art. Of primary importance is giving student artists support and encouragement to experiment with new ideas while gaining an educational gallery experience. Committed to excellence and personal expression, the Smith Gallery promotes the visual arts as a necessary and valid contribution to Grinnell College's cultural growth.

The Smith Gallery is named for the Grinnell College Alumni Edith Renfrow Smith '37 and was dedicated in the Summer 2007. Situated in the heavily trafficked Joe Rosenfield Center, the intimate Smith Gallery is an ideal space for solo and small group exhibitions.
