Neuroscience Research and Teaching Postdoctoral Position - Closed


Grinnell College is seeking a postdoctoral-level neuroscientist who has a strong interest in undergraduate liberal arts education. The two-year position is funded through an AIRE grant from NSF and requires US citizenship. The successful candidate will be expected, in collaboration with one or more Grinnell faculty members, to participate in an ongoing research program involving undergraduates. The successful candidate will also work with faculty in the Biology and Psychology departments to develop and teach a new laboratory course (or courses) in neuroscience. Molecular Biologist/Biochemist Research and Teaching Postdoctoral Position - Closed


Grinnell College is seeking a postdoctoral-level molecular biologist/biochemist who has a strong interest in undergraduate liberal arts education. The two-year position is funded through an AIRE grant from NSF and requires US citizenship. The successful candidate will be expected, in collaboration with one or more Grinnell faculty members, to participate in an ongoing research program involving undergraduates. Research areas include starvation and DNA repair genes in prokaryotes and lens development in chicks. The successful candidate will also work with faculty in the biology and chemistry departments to develop new sophomore-level courses in cellular/molecular biology and an introduction to biochemistry. Biology/Statistics Research and Teaching Postdoctoral Position - Closed


Grinnell College is seeking a postdoctoral-level biologist or statistician with significant experience in both disciplines who has a strong interest in undergraduate liberal arts education. The two-year position is funded through an AIRE grant from NSF and requires US citizenship. The successful candidate will be expected, in collaboration with one or more Grinnell faculty members, to participate in an ongoing research program involving undergraduates. Possible research areas include methods of statistics pedagogy and the evolution and ecology of plants, fungi and insects. The successful candidate will also contribute to the integration of statistical concepts into new introductory biology courses and to the development of various statistics courses.
